Supporting people, place, and local priorities.
Zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) can offer benefits beyond individual drivers. ZEVs can support community well‑being through lower transportation costs, cleaner air, reduced winter idling, and opportunities for local jobs, training, and decision‑making around charging infrastructure.
Communities can shape solutions that align with their values, priorities, and long‑term stewardship of land and environment. Examples could include encouraging EV adoption through ensuring convenient, accessible EV charging infrastructure both in town and on routes out of town, and taking other measures such as moving to EV municipal vehicle fleets.
